Richard E. Turley Jr. served for more than thirty-four years in high-level management positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was managing director of the Church Historical, Family History, Public Affairs, and Church Communication Departments. He also served as Assistant Church Historian and Recorder. An innovator by nature, he helped develop and launch many of the most important scholarly initiatives and facilities of recent decades in the Church, including the Joseph Smith Papers, the Church History Library, the Church Historian’s Press, and FamilySearch. He has published numerous books on Latter-day Saint and Western history and created Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter-days.
