The second Widtsoe Symposium, “Religion in the Public Square” took place at USC’s Tutor Center Ballroom on September 24th, 2015. Four scholars were led in a question and answer discussion by Dr. Lori Meeks, Associate Professor of Religion and East Asian Languages and Cultures.

The second Widtsoe Symposium, “Religion in the Public Square” took place at USC’s Tutor Center Ballroom on September 24th, 2015. The evening featured presentations from:
- Dr. Grant Hardy, Professor of History and Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina
- Dr. Eric Huntsman, Professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University
- Dr. Noel Reynolds, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Brigham Young University
The program also featured a lively response from Dr. Sherman Jackson, the USC King Faisal Chair in Islamic Thought and Culture. All four scholars were then led in a question and answer discussion by Dr. Lori Meeks, Associate Professor of Religion and East Asian Languages and Cultures, using questions handed in by audience members. Dean Varun Soni conducted the evening and offered some very kind and welcoming words to the Foundation at the conclusion of the evening.
