Foundation Director guest lectures at USC

Latter-day Saints have some pretty distinctive teachings about the place of alcohol and drugs in religious life. On March 2, 2021, Dr. Jacob Rennaker spoke to students at USC's class on Drugs, Alcohol, Visions and Altered States in Religion. After providing the class with the historical background of how alcohol, coffee, and tea were used in early America, Dr. Rennaker introduced Joseph Smith's revelation on the Word of Wisdom. Students learned about both the spiritual and practical dimensions of this law of health and were able to have a discussion afterwards about what it means to live the Word of Wisdom today.
